Individually tailored assignments, ranging from 2 weeks
to 12 months, form part of an on-going strategy to build the financial
management capacity and long-term sustainability of charities and non-profit
community organizations across the world.
About the Job:
AfID is seeking a Volunteer Accountant. S/he will based in rural Kenya with
a partner nonprofit organization seeking to fill a position within their
finance department.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
1.
Implementing new loan accounting
procedures (currently in one loan account when it should be split by group);
2.
Business training for loan groups
who finish their second loan (they must seek bank financing after that);
3.
Overseeing the reconciliation of
all loan accounts (not reconciled at present);
4.
Reviewing the monthly board pack
content;
5.
Reviewing the petty cash
controls;
6.
Full re-implementation of
Quickbooks ;
7.
Staff training in MS Office and
Quickbooks;
8.
Compiling a donor reporting
package suitable for corporate entities.
